Byung-Yun Park
Mr. Mari Amano Mr. Byung-Yun Park Mr. Byung-Yun Park assumed the post of Deputy Executive Director of KEDO on January 7, 2006. Mr. Park has nearly thirty years experience as a diplomat in the service of the Republic of Korea's (ROK) Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Over that time he has led several divisions within the Ministry, including Treaties Division II and served as Advisor for International Relations to Cheju-Do. Mr. Park has served overseas at the Korean Mission to the United Nations, in the Republic of Colombia, United States, Republic of Hungary, Hong Kong, and most recently served as Ambassador to the Fiji Islands. Mr. Mari Amano Mr. Mari Amano assumed the post of Deputy Executive Director of KEDO on July 30, 2004. Mr. Amano is a career diplomat and has served for over thirty years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. His diplomatic posts have been varied and responsible. They include service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Economic Affairs Bureau (1980-1984); the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait (1984-1987); the Permanent Mission of Japan to the OECD in France (1987-1992); as Minister at the Embassies of Japan in Thailand (1994-1996) and in the United States (1996-1998); and as Deputy Director-General in the Multilateral Cooperation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2001). Just before joining the KEDO Secretariat, Mr. Amano served as the Consul General of Japan at Houston, Texas (2001-2004). He is a graduate of the University of Tokyo and Hertford College, Oxford University. Mr. Amano is married, and has three daughters. |
